If you are not taking donations online, you are missing out on an essential element of your nonprofit's success.

In addition to our Star Donor Basic Plan, we are now introducing the Star Donor Advantage Plan. This plan gives you the ultimate control and benefits for your organization.

We provide a merchant account with a number of different Internet gateways. Which gateway you choose will depend on the type of ecommerce solution you are looking for. Each gateway provides different features and methods of deployment. Click on the About links on the right to read about the differences.

Please note: If you are intending to use your merchant account with the FundRaiser Software, you must sign up for the merchant account with the Merchant Partners gateway. The Star Donor Basic Plan will also work with FundRaiser Software. Contact us if you have questions about this.

What happens when a transaction is submitted to the Payment Gateway?

Transaction information is collected with either a form that captures the necessary customer information (name, credit card number, etc.) from a merchants own secure transaction page, or via a page hosted on the Merchant Partners secure server, for the customer to fill out.

The customers information is encrypted using 40 or 128-bit Secure Socket Layer technology and sent to an Merchant Partners transaction server. The server sends the data through the authorization network to the appropriate card issuer's bank, using a secure, proprietary connection. When the authorization process is complete -- this takes around five seconds -- the customer receives an approval or decline response and the Merchant Partners server stores the transaction. Transactions are automatically settled each day and are typically funded within two to three business days.

Merchants can check the status of transactions or run reports on past activity by logging into their online merchant center. Online businesses also can use the Merchant Partners Virtual Terminal to enter payment information manually if customers prefer to call in their credit card information.
